The Australian public will now have until February 25 to provide feedback on the Draft National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children.

The government received heavy backlash from the public when it initially announced a review period of just two weeks last Friday.

Prevention, intervention, response and recovery are the four pillars that underpin a draft plan to end violence against women and children.

Minister for Women Marise Payne told Deborah Knight “we’re taking it very seriously”.

“This problem is most definitely something which takes community, family and individual leadership as well.”
