Nationals Senator Matt Canavan is warning committing to net zero by 2050 will be an “absolute disaster”.

The Prime Minister is preparing to head to the Glasgow climate change conference after a plan was presented to the Nationals on achieving net-zero.

The Senator told Ben Fordham says he “absolutely” won’t be supporting the push.

“It would cost jobs and it would push up the cost of everything.

“You can’t fundamentally change the basis of our economy in this radical way.

“If we do this it will be a betrayal of the workers who supported us at the last election.”
