Ben Fordham slams PM’s ‘corny’ press conference stunt

NBA star Shaquille O’Neal made a surprise appearance during Anthony Albanese’s press conference on an Indigenous Voice in parliament.
The basketball superstar was expected to express his support for the Indigenous Voice to Parliament at the Saturday presser but left after a few vague comments.
He is currently in Australia doing live shows and promos for a gambling company.

Indigenous politicians Jacinta Price and Lidia Thorpe have condemned the stunt.
“It was cringe-worthy, it was corny,” Ben Fordham said.
“How patronising – wheeling out an American celebrity to try to win over an Aussie audience.”
