Broncos Assistant Coach Matt Ballin has revealed the blunt conversation the club’s coaching staff had with star fullback Reece Walsh after his three-match suspension.

Walsh was suspended for Contrary Conduct and missed Origin three for the Maroons, but was outstanding in his return last night in the 36-20 win over Souths.

Ballin told The Continuous Call Team the club has focused on improving their discipline as a whole following the incident.

“Reece knew that he messed up,” Ballin said.

“Kevvie sort of had a bit of a chat with him and Darius Boyd who is one of the coaches at the club did as well.

“We all just said that sometimes you need to pull your head in and play the game.

“At training we’ve tightened everything up around our discipline.”
