A new impact statement from the woman who was sexually assaulted by the former NFL player Jarryd Hayne has been read in the NSW District Court today, where she stated her life has been a “never-ending nightmare”.

“I still don’t know how to put any of this into words,” the statement, read by Crown prosecutor John Sfinas, said.

The 35-year-old, Jarryd Hayne, was found guilty in April of two counts of sexual intercourse without consent, following the attack which happened on the night of the NRL grand final back in 2018.

The 26-year-old victim from Newcastle did not appear in person for his sentencing or for his hearing in the Downing Centre District Court.
