New AMP chairman confident the bank won’t ‘fall apart overnight’
The new AMP chairman says he understands investors are angry, but is confident in the bank’s future.
It follows damaging revelations at the banking Royal Commission which have eroded public trust in the financial services giant.
Chairman David Murray tells Ross Greenwood people should be confident “AMP is not just going to fall apart overnight”.
“The issue still is, from AMP itself, making those people confident that a revitalised board an new CEO and a new approach to the company will give them that confidence.”
Mr Murray tells Ross the board “recognise the seriousness of the company’s position”.
“They want me to lead the process of change.”
