New bus and ferry services introduced with no end to light rail debacle in sight
Transport Minister Rob Stokes has announced several new public transport routes to replace the Inner West light rail in lieu of a timeline for its repair.
NSW transport engineers will travel to Birmingham, England to learn from others working on the same problem present in light rail systems around the world.
2GB senior reporter Clinton Maynard told Ray Hadley in the interim, three new bus services will be operating between Central Station and the Star casino, Lilyfield via Glebe, and Dulwich Hill.
A new ferry service will also operate between Blackwattle Bay and Barangaroo, at full fare.
“This is a real mess.
“[Transport for NSW COO Howard Collins] has just provided an update, and they still can’t tell us when these trains are going to run again.”
