New plastic bottles can give you ‘twice as much wine’
A South Australian-based winery is at the forefront of the push for the use of flat wine bottles made from recycled plastic.
Accolade Wines, owned by Carlyle Group and Taylors Wines, has sold a Hardy’s wine using the flatter bottles in Europe for two years.
Taylors has a One Small Step wine in the same material.
Taylors Wines Managing Director Mitchell Taylor told Deborah Knight the bottles are 83 per cent lighter.
“We can fit in twice as much wine.”
