High profile veteran and former Special Forces Major Heston Russell has officially registered his own political party.

The Australian Values Party was officially approved by the Australian Electoral Commission.

Mr Russell told Luke Grant, after campaigning for veterans, the idea to register in politics was made clear after “seeing how broken and dysfunctional our current political system is”.

“Weak leadership and toxic leaders control through using their authority and motivate through fear.”

With plans in place and ideas put forward, Heston’s party sits, “right up the centre”.
