‘News to me’: NSW Racing Minister unaware of alleged drug syndicate
NSW Racing Minister Kevin Anderson has admitted to Ray Hadley he was unaware of an alleged drug syndicate conducted at a greyhound racetrack.
A greyhound trainer charged over the alleged sale of illicit drugs at a NSW club has been revealed to be the nephew of a club official.
Jackson Chaker is one of five men charged by police over alleged participation in a criminal syndicate suspected to be involved in the supply of illicit drugs between Sydney and the central-west.
It’s alleged he was selling drugs at greyhound tracks, including the Richmond Greyhound Club.
Minister Anderson told Ray Hadley “that’s news to me”.
“That’s an operational matter that will be taken care of by GWIC.”
He vows to Ray Hadley the industry won’t be shut down on his watch.
