‘No more stuck trucks’ – Galston Gorge overlength vehicle fines nearly double

From today, drivers of overlength vehicles attempting to use Galston Gorge will face significantly harsher penalties, with fines rising from $2,818 to $4,633 and demerit points doubling from six to 12.
Transport for NSW Deputy Secretary Sally Webb says the increase is necessary as over 800 violations have been recorded since 2020, despite extensive warning signs and electronic detection measures.
