Northern Beaches Council is considering dropping the use of gender terms such as “Mr”, “Mrs” and “Madam”, when councillors speak to each other at meetings.

Your Northern Beaches Independent councillor Sarah Grattan says terms such as “mayor” and “chair” should be used instead.

Councillor Rory Amon told Ben Fordham he was “taken aback”.

“The proposed change has gone out for consultation.”
