Not just about Disneyland: MP calls out leftist hypocrisy of international travel ban
There’s a push for NSW to reopen the international border for outgoing Aussies as other states lag behind on vaccinations.
Northern beaches MP Jason Falinski told Jim Wilson the people of NSW should be allowed to “go their own way” when the state reaches its 80 per cent vaccination threshold.
He accused Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and WA Premier Mark McGowan of throwing the national vaccination plan “out the door”.
“This is the thing that gets me about the [political] left in this country.
“We’re all happy to talk about what a wonderfully diverse country we are, and how inclusive we should be, except when it comes to actually letting people come back in to see their families, or see people in Australia reunite with their families overseas.
“That’s the point of international travel – it’s not just about going to Disneyland.”

In response, Tourism Minister Dan Tehan told Jim NSW “needs to stick to the plan”, even if other states won’t.
“No one wants this more than I do, but we’ve just got to make sure that all of us understand the national plan was put in place based on the science of the Doherty Institute.”
