NRL player Jack De Belin has been charged over the alleged sexual assault of a woman in Wollongong at the weekend.

The State of Origin player handed himself into detectives this Thursday afternoon.

It’s alleged he assaulted a 19-year-old woman at a unit in the early hours of Sunday morning after they’d left a Wollongong nightclub together with another player.

27-year-old De Belin has been charged with aggravated sexual assault in company.

He’s been granted conditional bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court in February next year.

Police say their inquiries are continuing.
