The NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro is still campaigning to bring nuclear power to the state but admits it could take up to 10 years to convince the public.

The NSW Deputy Premier in is the US meeting with companies who will build the world’s first small modular reactor.

He hopes by the time the reactor is available, Australians will be more open to bringing this type of energy to the country.

Ben Fordham speaks with Robert Parker, Committee Member and past president of the Australian Nuclear Association.

“It’s encouraging to see the public coming to terms with this.

“But we need more of the type of leadership John Barilaro is showing to give some concrete ideas to our future energy solutions.”
