NSW Nationals leader stands by emissions reduction despite federal resistance
The NSW Nationals leader is standing by the party’s stance on emissions as their federal counterparts continue to debate net zero by 2050.
NSW has committed to halving greenhouse gas pollution by 2030.
Paul Toole told Deborah Knight “these are jobs of the future”.
“Communities are going to be transitioning from coal … it might take 20 years but I’ll tell you what, 20 years will come around quickly if we don’t start the planning now and looking at what emerging industries are going to be the future.
“At a personal level, this is about making sure that we strike the right balance.”
