NSW Police Minister apologises as fugitive Mostafa Baluch caught
NSW Police Minister David Elliott has issued an apology after accused drug kingpin Mostafa Baluch was caught.
Baluch is expected to be extradited to Sydney after being arrested during a dramatic truck stop at the Queensland border.
NSW Police was assisted by the Australian Federal Police, the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission, Australian Border Force, the NSW Crime Commission, and interstate police.
Mr Elliott told Ben Fordham there were fears he had fled overseas.
“My apologies to the international law enforcement agencies for putting them through the anxiety that they went through thinking that we would never see him again.”
