NSW Premier confirms ‘renewed look’ at hotspot definition
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian is welcoming the opportunity afforded by the state’s vaccine uptake to review how hotspots are defined.
With 80 per cent of the eligible population vaccinated with at least one dose, the Premier confirmed to Clinton Maynard NSW Health “will take a renewed look” at the LGAs in hard lockdown.
“It is a good opportunity for Health to review what they’re defining as an area of concern.
“Previously, they’d look at the cases per 100,000 people, they’d look at the geography, they’d look at where people were moving and what authorised workers were doing.
“Having said that … we can’t go too easy too early, because then it could wreck all the good work we’ve done.”
