The NSW Shadow Treasurer Daniel Mookhey has fired shots at Perrottet government failures during a fierce budget reply on Drive.

A feature of the Labor package is an assurance that at least 50 per cent of our transport fleet will be built locally.

Mr Mookhey explained the cost of the policy will be: “not much at all when you factor in all the blowouts that have taken place when we exported this manufacturing offshore and imported duds.

“Had Mr Perrottet chose to apply this policy when he bought the CBD light Rail, when he bought the metro lines … we would be able to do more.

“We have fallen behind and we are starting from behind,” he said.

Other aspects of the Labor package included toll relief and returning the harbour tunnel into public hands.
