NSW Treasurer denies knowledge of reported Harbour Bridge toll split
NSW Treasurer Matt Kean has reiterated he has no intention of changing toll arrangements on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, contradicting a Sydney Morning Herald report.
Government sources told the newspaper equalising the bridge crossing by halving the southbound toll and adding it to southbound trips is being considered.
Mr Kean denied knowledge of the proposal, telling Ben Fordham he “hasn’t heard anything about splitting the toll”, but the government is investigating its options when it comes to tolls.
“I confirm what I said the other day – we’re looking to make driving around Sydney more affordable for everyone.
“We want to lower the burden of tolls across Sydney and across NSW, not increase it.”
