Tributes flow: Olivia Newton-John dead at 73
Olivia Newton-John has passed away at the age of 73 after a long battle with breast cancer.
The singer died at a ranch in Southern California surrounded by family and friends.
She’s had a 30-year fight with cancer, first diagnosed in 1992, before it returned in 2013 and again in 2017.
Her husband released a statement asking for “privacy during this very difficult time”.
The family requests that “in lieu of flowers … any donations be made in her memory to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund.”
The four-time Grammy award winner is best known for her role as Sandy in the movie Grease.
Entertainment reporter Peter Ford told Ben Fordham everybody loved her.
“This really is like Australia’s Princess Diana moment.”
