Cold & flu tablets are part and parcel of our consumer habits whenever we get hit and knocked out by flu, but it turns out the active ingredient may not actually be any use at all.

Assoc. Professor Nicola Smith explained why the active ingredient in cold & flu tablets is utterly useless to Chris O’Keefe – it’s just a placebo.

“These guys are giving it to us in cold and flu tablets, and the phenylephrine doesn’t actually get to your nose… it’s an open secret”, Smith explained on Drive.
