Opera House lit up in honour of Remembrance Day
The sails of the Sydney Opera House have been lit up with red poppies to pay respect to Australians who served the country.
This Remembrance Day marks the 104th anniversary of the end of the First World War.
A minute’s silence will be held at 11 o’clock to commemorate the lives lost during the conflict.
Veterans Minister David Elliott told Ben Fordham free public transport for veterans will allow them to go to reunions.
“It’s a good opportunity for those veterans … to get together and provide each other the welfare checks that are so desperately needed.”
