Opposition announces $250 million community sport investment
Shadow Minister for Sport, Anne Ruston has discussed the newly-announced $250 million investment in community sport infrastructure.
The investment will be over four years, in an effort to support and foster future Australian talent.
“We’re saying, let’s break down the barriers, let’s make sure they’ve got the infrastructure and the support that [Australians] need to be able to get out there and start playing sport”, she explained.
Ruston called for the current government to reconsider a potential public holiday in case the Matildas win, stating that investing in community sport is “a better way to celebrate Australian athletes”.
