‘Our whole town’s out’: Remote NSW community’s internet outrage
Residents of Kundabung on the NSW Mid North Coast are continuously pushing for more reliable internet and phone access after major recent outages.
A population of only 630, outages from Telstra have left residents beyond frustrated and has thus intensified calls for a more reliable and stable connection.
Affecting online learning, working from home, and mobile service there is growing pressure on the government to fix this issue.
Kundabung resident Mel Robinson told Deborah Knight, “we want what we had returned”.
Mel said the ongoing issues also stem from the highway just south of Kempsey.
“Our mobile service went from a full five bars to a one or two on a good day,” she said.
“Nothing has been brought in to compensate for it.
“It’s the way that they deal with it afterwards that we have a problem with.”
