The Greens are pushing to remove Marrickville Golf Course after a proposal to slice the course in half was defeated last year. 

Former Inner West mayor Darcy Byrne was recently removed from office and replaced with Greens councillor Rochelle Porteous.

Mr Byrne was part of the original campaign to save the golf course and told Joe Hildebrand the space is used by many people.

“I thought we’d put this to bed.

“I really don’t understand this obsession with trying to tear the course apart.”
