Liberal Senator David Van has addressed The Senate for the first time in the wake of further allegations made against him after he was first accused of sexual assault by Lidia Thorpe.

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton on Thursday confirmed Senator Van had officially been kicked out of the Liberal party room.

Senator Van denied the allegations before calling for an immediate investigation.

“There must be an investigation into these outrageous claims,” he said.
