Panthers donate over $100,000 to drought-stricken farmers
Panthers Group will donate over $100,000 to drought-stricken farmers doing it tough in central-western New South Wales.
Panthers Group CEO Brian Fletcher has called in to tell Ray Hadley the board unanimously decided to donate the sum to Macquarie Radio’s The Big Dry Drought Appeal.
He says the Penrith Panthers will be also making a substantial donation to the cause, with Phil Gould set to make the announcement next week.
The club knows first-hand how dry it is on the land as they develop pathways for players from the state’s central west.
“They’re the areas that are doing it really tough. I know a lot of areas are too but it’s bone dry out there,” Mr Fletcher says.
“It’s good to be able to put some money back into those areas.”
Ray Hadley thanks Panthers Group for their generous donation, assuring Mr Fletcher and listeners the money goes straight to farmers in need.
“On behalf of what we’re trying to do here, through Macquarie Radio, The Big Dry Drought Appeal, I thank you and your board very very much.”
