Parramatta residents still sweltering without a public pool
Parramatta residents are still stuck without a public pool – and there’s no relief in sight.
The State government demolished the pool in April 2017 as part of the development of a new stadium in Western Sydney.
They have yet to replace it.
Parramatta Councillor Lorraine Wearne told Ben Fordham the latest proposal is unworkable.
The proposed site is on State government land, and the council would be charged commercial rent for it.
“It is way beyond anything our council and our communities can afford.”
Ben said he’ll take up the cause with the Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres.
