Pauline Hanson blasts QLD’s bid for 2032 Olympics
One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has put up billboards across Queensland opposing the state’s bid for the 2032 Olympics calling it out as a waste of money.
Last month QLD Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced the plan to bid for the 2032 Games hosting rights, which would see the event hosted in various locations across the state.
Senator Pauline Hanson tells Deborah Knight the bid is a terrible idea and “the cost to the QLD taxpayers is going to be horrendous”, estimating it will blow out to about “twelve and a half-billion dollars”.
“People in rural and regional QLD are furious about this.
“We haven’t got the water infrastructure… I’ve got townships that are failing now through lack of water.
“Isn’t it funny that we can, 12 years ahead, plan for a sporting event but we can’t plan for water infrastructure to provide the necessary needs to keep our nation moving along.
“I don’t have faith or confidence in the governments because all they’ve done is prop themselves up over the years… all they’ve done is sell off their assets.”
