Peta Credlin believes Labor ‘love harder than the Libs’

Peta Credlin has admired the unity of the Labor Party after Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard attended Labor’s 2019 campaign launch together.

The two former prime ministers smiled as they walked into the event together, a rare sign of unity in light of their often hostile attitudes towards each other.

Even former Labor senator Graham Richardson was surprised at the turn of events.

“I got a shock myself! I thought that was truly amazing given what the two of them think of each other.”

Political commentator Peta Credlin tells Ben Fordham she applauds their ability to put their personal grievances aside.

“When you look at the Labor Party, I admire that Labor put the Labor brand first.

“They tend to hate harder than the Libs, but they love harder than the Libs.”

She says it’s especially impressive considering both Rudd and Gillard’s history with Bill Shorten.

“The only thing they’ve got in common left is the knife in their back from Bill.”
