Ray Hadley has revealed Peter Dutton has texted former NSW premier Bob Carr, personally asking him to delete his extraordinary claims.

Mr Carr has claimed the Defence Minister leaked the infamous texts referring to the Prime Minister as a “complete psycho”.

“The former premier must have caught relevance deprivation syndrome,” Ray said.

“Mr Dutton has contacted him via text last night and has received no reply.”

Australian National Editor Dennis Shanahan told Ray Hadley Scott Morrison has handled the texting saga as best as he can.

“What else can he do?”

Mr Shanahan thinks the ongoing situation is damaging for the Liberal party saying, “it distracts the government from what it wants to talk about”.

“The real problem is the distraction from the real conversation.”
