Opera Australia has announced its 2022 season, jam-packed with productions postponed from 2020 and 2021.

Among the exciting lineup is a new outdoor event called Opera on Cockatoo Island, where a new production of Carmen, custom-built for the site, will take place.

Opera Australia Artistic Director Lyndon Terracini told Deborah Knight they’ve had enormous interest since releasing the program this morning.

“All our phone lines collapsed, there was this huge response.”
