Hundreds of people have stood in the formation of a pineapple on Sydney’s northern beaches to raise funds for childhood cancer research.

Alana de Kort sadly lost her brave battle to a rare childhood cancer called Ewings Sarcoma in 2018.

Pineapples were Alana’s favourite fruit, and they’ve since become a symbol of her legacy within her community on the Northern Beaches.

Alana’s mother Jacqui de Kort told Jim Wilson they are raising money for the Kids Cancer Project and her own charity ‘Blue Bottle’.

“Everyone turned up to fill the shape of a pineapple, and we are stoked with the outcome.”
