The Queen has appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony as official celebrations for her Platinum Jubilee get underway.

A new portrait, shot by Ranald Mackechnie features Her Majesty in the Victoria Vestibule at Windsor Castle on May 25 this year.

Trooping the Colour kicked off four days of celebrations for the Jubilee.

Prince Louis stole the show on the balcony alongside other members of the royal family.

US correspondent Adam Gilchrist told Ben Fordham the queen “looked absolutely thrilled” during the flyover.
