The Sydney Harbour Bridge has a birthday on the weekend… it turns 90.  Luke Grant speaks to 2GB listener Andrew Whitford whose grandfather, Archer Whitford, took a 10 year lease on the south east pylon from which he operated a viewing platform and telegraph service.

Archer invited all the dignitaries that attended the opening of the bridge into the pylon, where they all signed this magnificent 1.8M wide commemorative parchment which Andrew has to this day – PM’s, Premiers, Governors – and the other heavyweights – it’s a priceless piece of history and an extraordinary story of entrepreneurship.
