Albanese: From absence to overbearing

Mike is joined by Dr Tanveer Ahmed, Psychiatrist, author and social commentator, who suggests in his recent article that while PM Anthony Albanese is recognised as a good man with humble beginnings, his leadership may push the boundaries of how ordinary and charismatic Australians expect their leaders to be.

In recent analysis of the Prime Minister’s leadership style, he has long modelled himself on Bob Hawke who was a renowned collaborator.  Despite portraying himself as a first among equals, Mr Albanese has been criticised for not asserting his role as the sole leader of the Labor party.

During the launch of the Voice initiative, Mr Albanese deferred to Linda Burney as the primary spokesperson, and his absence during the Australia Day debate raised questions about his leadership.
