With up to 80% of EVs sold in Australia made in China and security concerns leading to Huawei’s ban from Australia’s 5G network, there are growing fears, with the US considering a ban on Chinese-made vehicles.

Incidents like the remote disabling of a Tesla show the risks. According to the Mozilla Foundation, cars are currently the worst product category for privacy protection.
