Once, supermarket brands like Coles Own Brand, Woolworths Homebrand, and Black & Gold came with a certain stigma.

When they were first introduced, home-brand products were positioned as budget options, often with basic, unattractive packaging, and many shoppers felt a bit embarrassed about putting them in their trolleys.
