Australian farmers raise fears over New Zealand “Burp Tax”
The New Zealand government’s plan to tax livestock producers for methane emissions, is raising eyebrows in Australia.
From 20-25, farmers will have to pay extra for emissions stemming from their animals’ belching and flatulence.
It’s sparked fears the Australian government could follow suit, driving up costs for farmers and consumers.
I caught up with New South Wales Farmers president James Jackson, to talk over the concerns.
