Bar owner combats Sydney’s lack of late-night dining
Mike is joined by Raffaele Lombardi, creator of Australia’s first negroni-centric bar, Bar Conte in Surry Hills, who introduced late-night dining after struggling to find quality restaurants open post 9pm in Sydney.
Inspired by Italian dining habits, patrons can now enjoy food till 11.15pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Lombardi’s frustration with limited dining options led to this initiative, offering substantial dishes crafted by head chef Steven De Vecchi, with a focus on shared plates and hearty portions.
Bar Conte’s evolution into a late-night venue occurred two years after its opening, catering to customers from morning coffee to late-night drinks. Lombardi aims to extend trading hours earlier in the week as well.
