This time last year, RFS volunteers were on the ground battling more than 70 fires in NSW. Flash forward, and today they are on the ground on the Northern Beaches after getting the call up from NSW Health.

RFS Inspector Ben Shepherd tells Natalie Peters about that operation, the firefighters who are spending the day with family reflecting on last year, and a bumper year in recruitment.
