Cadillac to make a return here with large Lyric electric SUV in late 2024

After an absence of more than half a century U.S. luxury brand Cadillac has
announced it will return to the local market in late 2024 – as with the current
Chevrolet and GMC brands distribution of Cadillac here will be handled by
General Motors Speciality Vehicles (GMSV) and will be exclusively electric for the
Australian market. First up next year, the large Cadillac Lyric SUV manufactured
in right hand drive in the U.S. followed at a date to be announced by the smaller
Optiq SUV, and Celestiq sedan. Visually striking the Cadillac Lyric is the brands
first battery powered vehicle and for this market will feature all-wheel drive and
dual electric motors. U.S. testing suggests a driving range of 494km. The Cadillac
Lyric will be sold via a website at fixed prices or from two outlets to be
established in Sydney and Melbourne.
