Chris Bowen’s nuclear fear tactics critiqued

Clinton Maynard

Luke is joined by Robert Parker, the former president of the Australian Nuclear Association and founder of Nuclear For Climate Australia, who responds to a recent YouTube video by climate change and energy minister Chris Bowen, where he dismisses nuclear energy as a viable option for Australia.

According to Mr Parker, Bowen’s stance demonstrates opposition to effective action on climate change and denies Australia a secure and affordable energy future through nuclear power.

He also criticises Minister Bowen for insulting the hardworking individuals at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) who produce nuclear medicines, as well as creating deep division within the submarine program.

The Australian public is becoming aware of Bowen’s misguided anti-nuclear rhetoric, while simultaneously facing rising power bills due to an uncontrollable energy transition, says Mr Parker.
