Peter Ford tells John the song “We’ll Meet Again” came out at the right time and Vera was by far the favorite of the armed forces in front of Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra.
For her 100th birthday they projected her image onto the white cliffs of dover and the Queen turned up to her surprise 100th birthday party.
