Emotions are just visitors that come and go

Mike Jeffreys

Mike is joined by Dr Marny Lishman, Health & Community Psychologist, who reveals while we often see anger as a negative emotion, it’s also a valid emotion that needs to be felt and understood.

If you’re on school holidays with the kids and you’ve taken them to see ‘Inside Out 2’
you’re teaching them a valuable lesson about every emotion having its place… including the ones we don’t like.

“Anger is a primal emotion, and one we need for survival”, says Dr Lishman.

“When properly managed, it can become a powerful tool telling you about what’s working in your life, and what isn’t. My advice is don’t be afraid of it.

Movies like Inside Out teach us that emotions are just visitors that come and go depending on what’s happening in our lives.

The trick is to not bottle them.
