Farmer concerns ignored

Rural News

Farmers in Victoria’s West are pushing back against state government plans for renewable energy projects to be build on their land.

VicGrid wants to build transmission lines, wind turbines and solar farms around the Murray River, Horsham, Echuca and into the south-west.

The proposal is open for feedback until the 25th of August.

Rural Reporter Emily Minney has spoken with Victorian Farmers Federation Climate Change committee Chairwoman Katherine Meyers, who says the government ignored their requests to hold off on the plan.
