Hyundai drops the entry price and enhances the lineup of it’s electric Ioniq 5 SUV

David Berthon

Hyundai has sharpened its pencil on its Ioniq 5 electric SUV for 2024, lowering
the entry price by $7,500 and restructuring the range, now with 7 models. A new
standard range variant with 58kW/hour battery pack and 125kW rear motor now
kicks off the innovative Hyundai electric line-up from $64,500. and delivers a
range of 384km. An additional cost of $6,000 upgrades you to the carryover
model with 77.4 kW/hour battery and 168kW rear motor and a range of up to
507Km. In short, the Ioniq 5 Techniq variants have been deleted with Dynamiq
and Epiq models in rear and all-wheel drive models with extended range 77.4
kW/hour battery moving up the range. Thankfully, the dreadful camera-based rear
vision pods that replace normal rear vision mirrors are now only available as an
option on the top-spec Epiq variants.
