Luke Grant

Aussie historian, author & entertainer Jim Haynes joins Overnight each week for his unique knowledge of the not-so-famous characters from Australia’s history. This week Jim shines the spotlight on Lesbia Venner Keogh – Voice of The Invisible People.

Lesbia Harford (9 April 1891 – 5 July 1927) was an Australian poet, novelist, political activist and was one of the most remarkable women who ever lived in Australia.

Remembered today by only tiny handful of feminists and real poetry historians and aficionados, she was one of the very first women in Australia to graduate with a law degree.
