Bill Woods is joined by Peter Cochran, former member for Monaro & owner/operator of Cochran Horse Treks, to discuss the NSW government’s review of managing wild horses in Kosciuszko National Park.

The plan’s aim was to reduce the number of brumby from a reported 14,000 down to just 3,000.  Reports claim control measures needed to bring the park’s horse population down should include ground shooting, with the need to protect the fragile alpine ecosystems from the damage they cause.

Mr Cochran however has consistently disputed these figures saying that the amount of brumbies listed is far less than reported.
